So many people try so hard to make life work, simply because they have forgotten one simple thing. They try to create the life of their dreams over and over again, but their dreams always seem to be out of their reach. They become frustrated and disillusioned. They keep pushing and pushing but a part of them feels like giving up.

Are you one of these people?

It doesn’t need to be like this. In fact, life was never meant to be this way.

So what is missing? What have you forgotten?

Did you know that there is a bigger part of you that is, at least from the personality’s standpoint, all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving, all-abundant? This part of you is so much bigger, wiser, and more powerful than you the personality. But, what is most important is that this part of you is here to serve you. It is here to serve you because it is you.

This bigger part of you goes by many names – Higher Self, True Self, Core Self, Soul, Source Energy…the Toltecs call it your Dreamer. It is Who you are before, during, and after you come into body. It contains your Life Purpose and all the tools you need in this lifetime to fulfill it.
You the personality self are a piece of this bigger Self (with a capital S). You the personality self are necessary for your bigger Self to function and experience physicality. You are a piece of It and It is you.

The bigger Self that you are has the power to create in ways the personality self can hardly imagine. If we were to put a ratio to it, you could say that 80% of the power to manifest lies in your bigger Self. The personality self has only 20%. Most people, unaware or having forgot Who they are, only use the 20%. This is why life is so challenging and often frustrating for them.

To exacerbate this even more, most people only use a small percentage of the 20%. You have probably heard that people only use a small part of the potential their ‘mind’ has. This is true. But what is even more impactful than this is that their ‘mind’ is the 20%. Their ‘mind’ is only a small percentage of their total Self, their total potential. If you use only 5% of your 20%, you are really only using 1% (100% x 20% x 5% = 1%) of your total potential, of the bigger Self that you are.

Just think, if you could tap into your 100% potential, you could create in one year what normally takes you 100 years to create (1% x 100years = 1 year).

So the question is, how do you tap into your Source Energy, your Higher Self, Who you truly are?

Living Your Dreams

There is a question that if you sincerely ask, and honestly answer yourself, will propel you onto to personal growth and spiritual faster than you can imagine. It will also powerfully activate The Law of Attraction. It is a question you should ask yourself every day. It is a question you should ask whenever you have a life challenge. Ask it and you will find that you already have the solution to any of life’s problems. Best of all, you will empower yourself to create the life of your dreams.

Before I give you the question, let me ask you a couple of other questions. When you dream at night, who is dreaming? Who creates your dreams? The answer is, of course, you do. You, or an aspect of the bigger self that you are creates your dreams, and you dream them.

Along the same lines, who creates your life? Who lives your life? The answer is the same. You do. You create your life and you are the person living it, no one else. When you are ready and willing to accept this truth, your entire life dramatically changes.

This first thing that changes is that suddenly you are empowered. If you are creating your life, life no longer happens to you. You make it happen. Perhaps you are not happy with everything in your life now. Knowing you are creating even those things you are not happy with, gives you the power to change what you create, and create something you will be happy with. After all, if life just happens to you, how can you change it? You can only change it if you create it. And, you do.

The second thing that happens when you realize that, just as you create your dreams you create your life, is you take responsibility for what you are creating. So often, people blame their life on other people, on circumstances out of their control. As soon as you do this, you have just given away your power to create the life you desire.

Blame is always self-destructive as is the anger that comes out of blame. In its extreme form, blame turns to rebellion which always harms self. Many people have more or less ruined their lives by blaming their parents and going into rebellion. They then project the blame onto bigger authorities such as society and/or government and ultimately end up dropping out of life and dis-empowering themselves.

This does not mean that you should not strive to improve the world you live in. You should. And, the best way to do this is to honor self and take responsibility for the world you are creating.

The third thing that happens is, because you are taking responsibility for the life you are creating, and because you are empowering yourself to more powerfully create that life, you begin to create the life of your dreams – a life full of love, abundance, well-being, with your deepest desires fulfilled.

So what is the most important question you must ask yourself every day? It is this. Ask yourself “Why am I creating this?” If you ask yourself this question, and honestly look at self, you will know. You will not only know why you are creating the situation or attracting the person or that kind of relationship, you will know what it is you need to shift in self to attract something better. You will have just empowered yourself to create the life of your dreams.

Aikido - In The Flow

If you push someone what happens? Chances are they will push back. If you grab someone’s hand and pull them, what happens? They pull away from you. If someone is needy and is grasping at you for your love and attention, what do you do? Most people pull away. Grasping at something you want can actually stop you from having it. Repelling something you don’t want, can make it push at you even harder.

People grasp and repel in many arenas in life. They grasp at things they want. They grasp at receiving pleasure. They repel people and things they don’t like. What they don’t realize is that the constant grasping and repelling, not only creates the outcome they don’t want, but puts them in a lot of stress and drains their energy.

In personal development, grasping and repelling will stop you in your tracks. You can’ heal something you avoid looking at. If you avoid and deny that you have an alcohol problem, for example, the problem will persist, or get worse. It is only through shining the transformative light of awareness on something that it can heal and be integrated.

If you wish to manifest your hopes, dreams and desires and activate the Law of Attraction, the best state to do this in is being in the flow of life. You must allow what you desire to be, not grasp at it. Grasping at something implies that you don’t have it. If you don’t energetically have it first, you won’t have it in form.

When you allow both the good and the bad without grasping and repelling, you enter into the the powerful flow of the now moment that flows through self and all of life. You naturally move into a state of well being that is more aligned with your desires manifest, activating the Law of Attraction.

There is a powerful Japanese martial art form called Aikido. Ai means harmony. Ki means spirit. Do means ‘the way of’ or ‘the road to’. In other words, Aikido means ‘the way of harmonized spirit’. The key difference between Aikido and other martial arts is that you don’t repel or block a person attacking you, you flow with punch or kick, using the energy of their momentum for yourself.

Do this in your life and you will have more energy to manifest what you wish to manifest. Instead of resisting things you don’t like and pushing them away, simply allow them to flow through you and dissapate. This puts you in the universal flow of life as you move into living in the now moment.

Be aware of where you are grasping at things in life. Imagine having your desires manifest. Grow the sensation of your desires manifest in your inner world. Do this without grasping at them and you allow them to move from being to having. Grasping prevents the having. For example, if you wish more abundance in your life, imagine yourself being abundant. Imagine what you will buy, what you will do, and most importantly how good you will feel with your abundance. If you are grasping at it, it means you don’t yet have it. Let the grasping go and have it in your inner world (your thoughts, feelings and imagination). As you do this you open the door to having it in your outer world as well.

Living in the Flow has other advantages. One obvious one is that when you are not repelling or grasping at things in life, you have more energy, and less stress. You are more relaxed and because of this are able to get more done in less time. One can only surmise that living a relaxed, stress free life with more energy would be better for your health and longevity.

Want to increase your well-being and more powerfully activate the Law of Attraction in your life? Be aware of where you grasp and repel in your life. Consciously let the grasping and repelling go. Allow whatever is to be. As you do so, you begin to live in the Flow where all good things reside.

Who will you feed?

The above is a great line from the Movie Ghost Rider. One of the beautiful things about living in the Flow, is that you become aware that, at any given now moment you have a choice. You can choose who you wish to be. The now moment contains all there is. If you wish abundance, you can always find it somewhere in the now moment. If you wish to feel enthusiasm and excitement about life, you can always find it in the now moment. Living life on purpose, with intention, means consistantly choose who and what you are in any moment or in any given situation. The more you choose who you wish to be, the more you are empowered to be just that. As the line from the Ghost riders says, you have the power to choose Who and What you wish to be. Yes, it can take practise because so many of us have been conditioned not to choose. When we don’t choose, life happens to us.

Now choosing to be Who you wish to be doesn’t mean that you grasp at it. Nor does it mean that you repel what you don’t want to be. Grasping and repelling are one of the biggest stoppers in life. They keep you out of the flow, blocking off the natural support that life give’s you. One of our students, for example, has always felt like she is a victim. She doesn’t like feeling that way, so she repels it and tries to push the feeling away from her. If instead, she simply chooses to be an empowered woman in any given moment, empowerment will flow into her life. There is no need to repel the victim energy. The victim energy will have no place to be as she is already filled with the energy of empowerment.

If you wish more abundance in your life, be abundant. Don’t grasp at it. What happens if you grab a person by their arm and begin to pull at them? They naturally pull back. The same is true with the Universe. If you are pulling on the Universe’s arm for money, the Universe will naturally pull back. It matches your pulling with pulling. This is another aspect of The Law of Attraction. If you pull at something, it pulls back. If you push something away, it pushes back. If instead you choose to welcome abundanc e into your life, abundance welcomes you.

We all have parts of self we like, and parts of self we don’t like. Instead of focusing on those parts of self you don’t like, and trying to push them away, focus on those parts of self you do like and feed them. Vickie Smith gives a wonderful story illustrating just this.

Grandfather said to the boy, “Let me tell you a story. It is as if there are two wolves inside me, one is white and one is black. The White Wolf is good and does no harm. He lives in harmony with all around him and does not take offense when no offense was intended. But will only fight when it is right to do so, and in the right way.

“But, the Black Wolf, is full of anger. The littlest thing will set him into a fit of temper. He fights everyone, all the time, for no reason. He cannot think because his anger and hate are so great. It is helpless anger, for his anger will change nothing.

“Sometimes it is hard to live with these two wolves inside me, for both of them try to dominate my spirit.”

The boy, looked intently into his Grandfather’s eyes, and asked, “Which one wins Grandfather?”

The Grandfather, smiled and said, “The one I feed.”

Who will you choose to feed? Consistently choose Who you wish to be and before you know it your life will be an extension of what you choose.

The other evening I decided to stay up and watch some television. There was a stand up comedian on stage turning his backside towards a woman in the front row telling her he would let her touch his stuff. His whole act was talking about how he was so beautiful and hot, and how he was the shit. I didn’t think he was that funny but as often happens, Source had a message for me.

The message was in the comic’s line, ‘I am so hot that I get up an hour early every morning so I can spend more time with ME.’ Okay, it isn’t that I am so hot that I can’t resist spending time with myself. But, I realized then that I wasn’t spending enough quality time with self. What does it mean to spend time with self, and why is it important?

This morning I chose to make of point to spend more time with self, and got up a little earlier to take a run in the colorful New Mexican high desert. For me running is quality time for self. As I was running, I could hear crickets on my right. It was a beautiful morning. Soon my inner guidance began to open up to me and began to speak about the importance of ‘self time’. I love when my guidance opens to me this way, and I realized then that the more often I take time for self, the more my guidance and inspiration come to me.

I remember Scott Peck, M.D., author of The Road Less Travelled, speaking about how he would take time each day alone in his guest house to write. He needed this alone time for his inspiration. I then remembered earlier this year, when I was sitting on the beautiful veranda of The Hotel Posada Carmina in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, over looking the inner courtyard full of birds chirping and bright colorful flowers blooming. I felt very inspired as I wrote down my thoughts for that day. I thought, ‘no wonder writers often travel abroad to write’. What I didn’t realize at the time was I was truly spending time with self.

The Crazy Rabbit

When you spend time with self, you nurture the Soul. Spending time with self revitalizes and reconnects you with Who you are. If you are a writer, spending time with self fills you with inspiration. If you have challenges in life, spending time with self puts you back into the flow and solutions appear. If you need ideas for your business, spend a little time with self and watch what happens. When people have relationship problems arise, sometimes they need a little ‘alone time’ to sort things out.

Before we talk about what spending time with self is, let’s talk a little about what it is not.

Spending time with self is not:
•    Being lonely
•    Being a hermit or a recluse
•    Being alone, but busy doing ‘things’
•    Habitually watching TV
•    Commuting to work while worrying about what you have to do that day

Some examples of spending time with self are:
•    Taking a walk or a hike in nature while pondering your life
•    Going to a movie that moves you deeply
•    Reading a good book that inspires you
•    Travelling at a leisurely pace – enjoying life
•    Meditating
•    Going to a Hot Tub or Spa
•    Getting a massage

To spend time with self, means you consciously create the time to be with self. It means you spend time in your inner world. Deep thinking, meditation, pondering, slow deliberate thoughts, mindfulness are all ways to spend time with self. This is very different than being alone, bored; or spacing out being a couch potato in front of the tube.

Spending time with self puts you into the flow of life and increases your state of well being. As you give yourself the gift of time and attention, you connect with the bigger Source that you are and live life from your depth. Living life from your depth gives life meaning. Living life with meaning leads to true fulfillment.

So, create the time to spend with the most important person in the world, you. You will be thankful you did.

The life you desire resides just on the other side of your comfort zone. If you resist your uncomfortableness, guess what happens. What you resist persists and the discomfort only grows bigger. By resisting your uncomfortableness, that which you desire stays perpetually out of your reach.

I talk a lot about living life in The Flow, that wonderful state of being where you feel fully supported by life, stress free, cherishing every now moment. It is a magnificant way to live. It takes no effort to move into The Flow. You only need to allow it to be.

If it is such a wonderful way to be and live, why are so many people not living in The Flow? One reason is that they have a fundamental misperception about it. They believe that if you are in The Flow you won’t have problems, or life challenges. So, they avoid their challenges thinking that by avoiding them they will be in The Flow. Another thing people do, which is related to this avoidance, is they avoid the feeling of being uncomfortable. They believe that if they are feeling uncomfortable they won’t be in The Flow.

The problem with this avoidance is that it negates allowance. The only way to be in The Flow is to allow. More than this, the solution to the problem or life challenge often lies just beyond the resistance. If you avoid feeling uncomfortable, and don’t allow the problem, the solution will have difficulty coming to you. You have heard the saying, ‘What you resist, persists.’ This is true, and often what happens is that when you avoid problems, not only do they persist, they get bigger.

Feeling uncomfortable is a natural part of growing and expanding. If you want to become stronger physically, for example, you may need to exercise to the point of discomfort. If you want to become a public speaker, moving through the uncomfortableness of getting up in front of a group of people will help youbecome a skilled speaker. If you have had an accident and need physical therapy, it may be very painful. But, by moving through the pain you heal.

When you are living in The Flow, it doesn’t mean that you are problem free. It doesn’t mean that there are life circumstances that come that may make you feel uncomfortable. However, when you allow the uncomfortableness to be, you remain in The Flow and it moves through you much more quickly than when you resist it. If you simply allow the problem to be, more times than not you will find the solution magically presents itself. The solution is in The Flow.

As you allow and welcome life challenges, discomfort and move through your resistance, sooner than not you will find yourself stress free in a state of free flowing Joy, the problem will be resolved; and you will have grown, and become more of Who you truly are.

There comes a time in one’s life when you cherish every moment you are alive. The beauty of this state is that the more you cherish your life, the fuller it becomes. The more life you receive. Life is a gift and when you realize that fully, all of its beauty, abundance and love opens to you. Life supports you.

I am presently at an amazing chapter in my life. Everything that I could possibly desire on a deep level is here, right now. This morning I was taking a run along the country road that winds through the New Mexican high desert here in Santa Fe. It is June and the temperature is perfect. As I was running I could feel the warm, yet cool desert breeze on my face. Off to my right I was being serenaded by crickets chirping. The somewhat pungent scent of the desert plants was in the air. I felt alive and connected to that bigger part of Who I am.

A memory of a scene earlier in the morning came into my awareness. I had awakened to find a warm little body snuggled up against me. My three year old daughter had crawled inbetween my wife and I. I had my arm stretched across her, my hand holding the hand of my wife. I looked at the two angelic faces next to me as they dreamed. I remember feeling blessed with the love and beauty that surrounded me. It was a moment to cherish, a moment that I now realize set the tone of my day in the most exquisite way. What better way could there be to begin my day?

Sometimes we don’t realize just how much of our hopes, dreams and desires are actually right here in our lives. Too the degree you look at your life and cherish the things you have, life responds and supports you.

My wife Kalyn and I are living the life of our dreams. We have a loving relationship that deepens each day we are together. We are expanding our conscious business, doing what we love. We travel several times a year abroad, taking groups of wonderful people to explore the many incredible magical places there are. We teach, write in alignment with our Intent to help people grow, evolve and live a life full of love, abundance and connection. We are surrounded by no only our biological family but our ‘ohana (the Hawaian word for family), a loving surrogate family supporting each other in being all we can be. We are guided and supported in so many ways, both my seen and unseen friends.

You Can Have It All

Why am I telling you this? I want you to know that you too can have it all. Don’t let the illusion of mass consciousness tell you otherwise. It didn’t always appear this way in my life. There were times when I thought life was unfair, full of pain suffering, and just too much hard work with little reward. There were times when I was ready to throw in the towel and give up. Don’t do it. Begin by taking a walk, going on a run, or even a drive in the country, and find what you are thankful for in your life. Let the gratitude grow and thank your physical body, your emotional body and your mental body for all they have done to try to make life work for you. Be aware that you are not alone. You are never alone. There is so much help waiting for you if you were only to give consent and invite it in. Know that you are loved and always will be. There is nothing you can do in this lifetime to change that.

As you do so, you will come to know Who you are, that authentic part of you. Connect to it. Invite it in. Live your life from that place.As you do so you will see your hopes, dreams and desires take form in your life.
