A common trap people on a spiritual path is one of self-introspection.
Self-introspection is not the same as self-observation, witnessing the
self or what Toltecs refer to as stalking the self.

    I fully acknowledge what you say about confusing self introspection with self observation.

    What I find hard is to observe self dispassionately without wanting making changes to what I see. It seems more to me that that observing without changing might keep you in a pattern forever.
